Dear Piedmont Customers,
It is with heavy hearts that we have decided to temporarily close our retail store to the public, effective Wednesday, March 25. We will still be open, but not allowing customers inside the store, greenhouse, or shade structure areas. Garden centers and feed stores have been deemed essential retail operations, but we believe it is our social responsibility to do what we can to help flatten the curve. We understand the importance of remaining accessible to our customers during this time because, despite pandemics, animals still have to eat! We will continue delivery services and curbside pickup for orders during the following hours:
Monday through Thursday: 10:00am-3:00pm
For the health and safety of all, we are respecting the preferences of employees who do not feel safe coming to work at this time as well as asking sick or symptomatic employees to remain home, which means we are working with a drastically reduced staff. We ask for your patience as we navigate this situation day by day and please be assured that we are working as quickly and efficiently as we can under the circumstances.
Bearing this in mind, we are asking that all orders be placed by phone at 919-942-7848 or 919-932-7387 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you cannot get through on the phone, we are on both lines so just keep calling or leave a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we can. All orders must be paid for by credit card over the phone.
We are currently overwhelmed with delivery orders and are trying to expedite deliveries as quickly as possible with reduced staff members - we ask for your patience. We are currently only accepting credit card payment over the phone for deliveries. As a reminder for deliveries, we have a $100 minimum order and our delivery charge is $20 for the first 15 miles round-trip plus .75 per mile beyond 15 miles round-trip.
Over the last few weeks, we have had such wonderful support from our community! We have chatted with so many new customers excited to start their very first gardens and learn all about plants, customers who are fired up to learn about self-sustainability and who are growing vegetables for the first time in their lives, customers who want to have their own chickens, and all of whom are consistently thanking us for being open for our community. The circumstances of this pandemic are awful, but we are glad to see customers making lemonade out of lemons and taking control of the things they can control, like their own food security and peace of mind. We are proud of our mission at Piedmont Feed and proud to be here for you.
We are still looking forward to a beautiful spring and to reopening as soon as it is safe to do so. Spring is not cancelled. Gardening is not cancelled. Enjoying your animals and riding your horses is not cancelled. Spending time with your loved ones is not cancelled. If you can, please support your local small businesses - we desperately need you right now. We will all get through this.

"I couldn't believe it when I walked into Piedmont Garden Center this planting season. The changes they have made blew me away. They had me hooked at "over 90 heirloom tomato varieties", but it only STARTS there. Their selection and quality of bedding and vegetable plants is the best in the area. They have created a beautiful shopping experience through large, eye-popping ornamental displays. Walking through the tropical displays is really inspiring. I would walk a country mile to shop here! Thank goodness I can bring my truck. Walking back with all my purchases would be a challenge."
